"For this child I prayed"
My friend Kristi told me about a scripture in 1 Samuel 1:27 that fits our little Asa perfectly. We had a prayer in our hearts for 3 years as we hoped to become pregnant. Sadly month after month we were sadly disappointed. We experienced 1 miscarriage, and 3 failed fertility attempts. Now when I look back at all that I know that it was all a process of learning and growing. We feel very blessed to know that Asa is the child we prayed for. Here is Asa at 2 months old.
We ended our trip by stopping by Harmony, PA...it isn't called that anymore but I can't remember what it is called. (Oakland?)
This is where the restoration of the priesthood was.
Also where Emma Smith's family was from. Where Nash is standing is where the Hale family home stood.
The nats were out in Harmony and Asa didn't last long outside.
We also took a little hike down to the river where Joseph Smith was baptized.
This last picture makes me laugh as I was trying to get a picture of this couple with out them knowing. They are the Eberhards from Blanding! They are on a temple mission in Washington DC and were on their way to Palmyra for the pageant. It was so fun to see them there. The church makes a small world!
Niagra Falls...
While my parents were here we took a quick trip to Niagra Falls. My mom loved this part of the trip.
I think I would rather die then be on a boat with that many people!
Darin and Nash did the trek to the bottom of the falls. I didn't want to take Asa down there and it was so hot/humid, my head was splitting. It was fun to watch them make their way to the falls from up above.
Asa got plenty of attention, from Granny and Grandad as well as from EVERYONE else. People just can not resist touching a tiny baby.
We had a lot of friends join us for popcorn and water.
Looking smart in mommies glasses. :)
