Charleston...ALEX...The Beach

We made a trip to the beach.  It was pretty late in the day so I didn't think we would be there too long.  So I opted to not get in the water.  Man did I regret it after seeing how much fun everyone was having. There is a ton of pictures but it shows how awesome of a time everyone was having.

I love these two pictures.  Alex made Nash's day!  He has been asking to play with Alex ever since this trip.

Nash was hilarious to watch.  He was pretending he was a power ranger, fighting the waves.

Asa wasn't a huge fan of the water but he sure loved the sand and terrorizing the people around us.
It was such a fun day with Alex.  It was really hard to drop him off at the base and drive away.  We could tell he was a bit homesick and our trip down to spend time with him meant a lot.  And to tell you the truth it meant a lot to us and helped our homesickness too!

Charleston...ALEX...Patriots Point

Our oldest nephew Alex is in the Navy and stationed in Charleston, SC becoming a nuclear engineer.  Charleston has been on the top of my list of places to visit.  I was so excited when we moved so close only 2 hours away.  We decided on a day trip to visit Alex and tour the town...but mostly to see Alex.  We decided to make our first stop at Patriots Point to tour the USS Yorktown.  It was fun walking around with Alex because he had already learned so much about the Navy and their ships.  He was good to explain all our dumb questions.

Nash absolutely adored Alex!  He followed him around everywhere.  Alex was so good with Nash, you can tell he is the oldest of 6 kids!

Asa was pretty good too, a little grumpy because of the humidity but not to bad for a little guy.

It was so bright, and we were pretty SWEATY from walking around.  We all had some pretty nice sunburns!
 We even saw DOLPHINS!

We wanted to treat Alex to lunch.  We couldn't find a place to eat on the way to Patriots Point so we decided to eat on the ship...haha...bad idea the food was SO GROSS!  And then we found out that THIS was the disgusting stuff Alex eats everyday.  He was so nice and just ate it right up.  Good thing we redeemed ourselves with a YUMMY southern meal!

Cow Day at Chick-fil-a

Our new friends the Johnston's invited us to go to Chick-fil-a for dress like a cow day.  I decided to take the easy route and make a mask instead of doing the whole get up.  I thought they turned out pretty cute!

Nash was happy to stand by the cow.  Asa on the other hand took one look at the cow and screamed his head off.  This picture is after the sad rage.... :(
I stole these pictures from the Johnston's blog.  Aren't Nash's little friends Bennett and Audrey so cute. Nash announced to me this week that he is going to marry Audrey.  I think I can live with that! :)

There's my happy little cow! :)  Thanks Becca for inviting us we had a lot of fun getting to know you all better!
