Memorial Day Parade...

I love the summer and I love parades. Emmaus seems to always have something going on. We don't live there anymore but it is just a hop skip and a jump away so when I heard there was a parade for Memorial day I started spreading the word...maybe I should have checked into the details a little more because there was some confusion.
We settled on this cute little spot only to be told that the parade route would not be going past that area. That should have been my first clue that something was a little fishy, as I knew that the parades in Emmaus ALWAYS went past this spot.
We moved to the corner and ALL of these people you see in this picture were invited by me to see this AWESOME parade.
The parade turned out to be 2 minutes of AWESOMENESS! As you can see Nash is enjoying every minute of the parade...haha! By the time he turned around it was over! We all just looked at each other laughed, I felt so bad for dragging so many people out for a 2 minute parade.
We heard that the next town over in Macungie was having a parade 20 minutes later, so we loaded up and settled on a nice corner for that parade. It may have been 2.5 minutes long with one extra fire engine.
The parade may have been short but our children watching the parade were super cute! LOOK AT ALL THOSE BOYS!
Poor CeCe was the lone girl of the group but represented well...such a cutie!
It was a game of the morning for me to get a picture of Emory. He usually loves to pose for me but this morning he was feeling a bit camera shy.
Our neighbor a little old man showed up to the parade with a bundle of flags for the kids. They loved it!

Friends Will and Dawson were so patriotic waving their flags.
And then there was my child who payed NO ATTENTION to the parade...I guess the dirt was more exciting!
Thankfully that parade was right by the beloved Macungie park and we spent another few hours visiting and playing with friends.
I was bummed that the parade wasn't that great and next time I will do a little more homework on my parades before I invite the world. But I am happy that we got to spend some quality time with old and new friends. Thanks to everyone who came out...IT WAS FUN!
