Melodrama...

We made sure to get to Blanding early enough that we could go to the melodrama that Cody was acting in.  The melodrama is a big part of the 4th of July.  I remember always going to see it as a kid when it was performed at the Edge of the Cedars Museum.  Now they have a stage behind the arts and events center.
Asa was a little wild during the performance but both boys enjoyed the popcorn and throwing it at the villain.

We had a good turn out of family there (not the kid with the red shirt and mullet.)  My grandpa and grandma Hurst were in Blanding camping and my Aunt Toni and Uncle Todd came as well.  We couldn't hear anything where we were sitting but the performance was fun to watch.

Cody was a student at a school. I think he was funniest in the play.  He reminded me of a minion!

Debbie Christiansen my parent's next door neighbor has been in these melodrama's since I can remember.  She is super talented!
As well as Linda Smith who was also my parents neighbor when I was growing up.  Not to mention both of them had kids who were my best friends.
Sadly we did more of this then watching the performance....
