I love that our church is really trying to restore a lot of the history of the pioneers. They have put in a lot of work on the Bluff Fort which is just south of Blanding. It is where the pioneers first settled in San Juan County after coming through the Hole in the Rock from Southwest Utah.
They had teepee's and hogans to represent how the Navajo's and Ute's lived.
Then they had areas for the kids to dress up and play like they were a pioneer. Asa was in love with this Orange horse. If we lost track of him we always could find him heading over to this horse.
They had dress-ups for the kids and smaller horses to ride but they just were not Asa's thing.
Nash on the other hand was right in his element.
Asa is a straight shooter I tell ya!
Darin took the boys for a ride in the handcarts. Which they loved!
They quilting guild made the quilts for the cabins that represented the first families that settled in Bluff. These pictures are of the quilts my mom made for it.
They provided a fun little game for the kids to do while walking through the cabins. They had to find certain items based on clues given. If they found all of them then they could have a magnet from the shop.
And because we were in Bluff we had to eat at Twin Rocks! Poor Ashley got stuck with all the kids.
