Walks with Grandma Willardson...

Grandma Willardson has always enjoyed taking Nash for walks and he loves them just as much! I think more so now that he can walk holding her hand...there is just so much to discover! Nash is so lucky to have grandparents that love interacting with him.

Nash had a fun outing with Gpa, Gma Willardson and Darin to the Philadelphia Aquarium. They had a great time, and Nash enjoyed looking into all the big tanks of fish. What a fun adventure to share with Grandma and Grandpa!

Walking at 17 months...

While my parents were here Nash hit a BIG mile stone and learned to walk on his 17 month birthday! Thanks to Sandy our Occupational Therapist. Nash was not a fan of Sandy's in the beginning because she exercise him like crazy everytime she came. Afte she helped him walk, she now gets kisses and big hugs from Nash. It is so cute. Life is so much easier with Nash walking! We need to post a picture of his awesome little crawl that kept him from walking. He looked just like igor!

Thanks for the visit...

It is a big sacrifice for my parents to come visit and leave my dad's business for so long. Thank you for coming. We all enjoyed your visit and look forward until the next time you guys come!

Lancaster County for Granny

My mom is the queen of quilting so it was a must that we go down to Lancaster County and visit the Amish Quilting country. It was sprinkling on us a bit but overall a beautiful day, with a lot of cute little shops. My mom even met and was coached by a sweet Amish woman about quilting. We visited the towns of Bird-in-Hand, and of course Intercourse, Pennsylvania.
Look how embarrassed they look to be getting this picture. haha. They were trying to be so conspicuous around the rest of the tourists.
Darin on the other hand, begged us to stop in the rain to get this picture.
There was a huge dog named Cody, but he decided to hide for the picture.
Nash was a good little boy for most of the time. He found this toy in one of the shops, and Darin couldn't get it away from him (so he claims) so he bought it for him. :)

But who can resist this sweet face! Besides when he is acting like this....



We had a great time in Lancaster County! Word to the wise, do not go to the Shady Maple Smorgasbord on a Saturday. CRAZINESS!

Playing at the Park...

My parents didn't want to do to much while they were here. We spent time driving around the area looking at the covered bridges and beautiful estates...which was fun...although what they really wanted to do was play and spend time with Nash. Here are some picture at Jasper park. This was the park that attracted us to Emmaus.







Nash is a little book worm and is a magnet to anyone that will read to him. I think Granny enjoyed the cuddle time from the Nasharoo.

Play with Grandad

Grand-dad and Granny Cosby came to visit up during the month of October. Nash decided that Grand-dad was his best buddy and I don't think Grand-dad minded that one bit. Nash learned how to say Grand-dad ("An-Ad)and would yell that from all parts of the house. Now when we ask Nash what grand-dad says he will reply "Moooo" For those of you that know my dad this won't surprise you. Doesn't matter where we are or how formal the occasion my dad is ready to do his moo call. i.e. our wedding!

Weight Loss Challenge

Alright everyone it is time that we have another weight-loss challenge!  We are no longer in Sunny California where Nash and I went on a daily 4 mile run at our beloved Thompson Creek Trail...sniff, sniff...sigh.  Darin and I have since purchased a treadmill.  But lets face it my motivation to get on the coat hanger is low at the moment and the weather is not helping!  Sooo to solve this weight gaining crisis it is time to do a fitness challenge!  Here is the deal....

The challenge will begin on January 2nd and end on April 3rd.  On January 2nd, each contestant must post their weight, height, waist size and for fun you can post the size of your butt, bust, and thighs. :)  Then every Saturday you must post your current weight.  The motivation is each person is responsible for contributing $10.  The winner will receive the money.  If enough people participate we may do a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.  

RULES: If you do not contribute to the pot by the 3rd week of the challenge you are eliminated.  If you miss more then 2 weeks of posting with out contacting me you are eliminated (no refunds).  Harsh I know but the truth is the last time we did this ONLY 4 people out of 15 or so contributed and the winner received very little when a large amount was expected.  Pretty lame if you ask me! ;)  Especially when you are putting in the time doing the hard work!

It is very motivating when you have to post your weight for others to see.  You are held accountable each week, for what you ate or how much you exercised!  Last challenge I lost 30 lbs!  GOOD-BYE BABY WEIGHT!!!

18 months old

I have been a HUGE blogging slacker!  I have a ton of pictures to catch up on.  We have been crazy busy!  Darin is enjoying his first year of ER residency.   He is learning how to run on little sleep and is gaining a ton of knowledge in each area he rotates in.  We do not get to see him to often but when we do we enjoy every moment.

Nash is growing up so fast.  The past couple of months have been busy for him as well.  In September I had him tested for early intervention because of some sensory issues I noticed.  The testing found him to be above average in his cognitive development.  Although his development in communication, social/emotional and physical were found to be delayed.  So we began Speech, Occupational, and Physical Therapies.  All have proved to be the best for our little Nasharoo and he has since learned to walk, is beginning to say words and is able to eat or touch certain textures with out gagging.  He now allows us to hug him and will give us a kiss, which was not something he enjoyed before therapy.  We still have a lot to work on but he is growing up healthy.  At his 18 month check up there were still some delays and they said we needed early intervention, and were pleased to see that I was 2 steps ahead of them.  Nash is still pretty small only weighing 21 pounds, landing him in the 5th percentile.  He is such a smart little boy and often I realize it is part of his personality to do things on his own time.  This is a great lesson for me, because I usually want things done RIGHT NOW!  I have set up his playroom to be a learning environment and we spend a bit of time during the day working on his development.  I love this time with my little boy, I realize now this is why I needed my education.  Being a mom full-time is very different then being a teacher with a classroom of 20 kids, although Nash's energy wears me out the same.  I love being a mom and I DO use my education daily with helping Nash.  I feel grateful for the knowledge that I have, and I know it is important to keep on learning.

My time is spent caring for Nash but on my OFF times, which is during naps and bedtime when Darin is working.  I have had the opportunity to educate myself in photography.  This has been fun, and I have had a lot of opportunities to practice here in Pennsylvania.  If you are interested in seeing what I do my website is http://christinawillardson.blogspot.com/ This will explain why I have been MIA in the blogging world.  I have a lot to catch up on including visits from both parents, Halloween, Thanksgiving and our great camping adventure to Pennsylvania's Grand Canyon!  Sounds exciting right! ;)
