Celebrating 40 years...

My parents celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on February 18th. It was a beautiful Saturday so we decided to take a drive down south. Our first stop was at Mulley Point, which overlooks the Valley of the Gods.

I always thought it was dumb to call this the Valley of the Gods....
To me it looks more like the Valley of Satan...it is so ugly!
The kids loved climbing the rocks.

Ash was good to guide Nash around, since he was a little unsure.

Group pictures are always fun. No one is ever looking at the camera. Not sure what we are all looking at, but Nash and Sadie got the memo to look at the camera.

Dog Car...

My dad liked to take Nash to the shop with him, although there wasn't a carseat in his pick-up so I made strict rules that he had to sit in the back strapped in with a seat belt. My dad was pretty good at respecting my wishes. Even Lindy sat in the back by Nash.
Which made Nash over joyed. He called my parent's cars the dog cars.
On the weekend of my parents 40th anniversary we took a ride into the country. We were on the highway for some of the time, so Sadie and Koen had to ride in their car seats....which I was happy for because the car seat is the biggest fight (and continues to be) in Blanding. NO ONE rides in car seats and I am a big mean mom for making Nash. My mom was the biggest culprit for not making him ride in the car seat, and she really thought she was being so sneaky about it and often lied about putting him in. BUT Sadie was good at informing me when Nash wasn't in his car seat...hahaha! I guess it is "easier" to not follow or respect our wishes....sadly that "easy" decision has made my life a living hell since, and I hear screaming and crying in the car. 3 year olds just do not understand the gray area that adults seem to create. OKAY I AM OFF MY SOAP BOX!

4 wheeling

My brother Kedrick pulled out the 4 wheelers for the kids to ride around the house. Last time Nash was on a 4 wheeler he cried the entire time so I figured it would be interesting. He did great! No crying just a lot of laughter and holding on for dear life!

Koen thought he was pretty BIG for getting to drive the 4 wheeler on his own.
I let Sadie drive (push the throttle) while I steered. That WAS the interesting part. It was little much for my pregnant belly!
Nash learned how to wrestle in Blanding. Koen and Sadie were always up for a good brawl, no matter where they were.

Snow in Blanding...

The first Sunday in Blanding it snowed. Nash was pretty excited about it. We had some issues getting to church as Nash would NOT get in his car seat. (an on going issue we have in Blanding.) He had to spend a bit of time in time out and Cody told him if he went to church he would build a snowman with him afterwards. That was enough to get Nash to cooperate, and I have to say he was probably the best child at church that day! haha

Cody was a little slow coming over so Nash enlisted Grand-dad to begin the snowman construction.
Granny was happy to stay in the warm house.

The dogs even helped out.
What boy can refuse a good puddle jumping.

This was the first attempt to the snow-man before Cody came over. I think Grand-dad is a little out of practice. :)

Nash is telling them he wants a BIG one!
So they tried again! This time it stayed and Nash checked on it every day after until it was completely melted away.

Valentine's Day...

Ashley made a TON of yummy sugar cookies on Valentine's Day and invited Nash over to decorate them with Sadie.
Notice the jar of candy next to the cookies. That jar was the death of me. I LOVE jolly ranchers and I think I devoured most of their stash!
Sadie's cookies were very pretty, and I am sure very yummy if you enjoy sprinkles....we gave those to Uncle Cody...haha!
Nash was pretty conservative with the decorations. I had to help him put more then just a dab of ice and one candy on.
Yumm!

Thanks Ash and Sadie for inviting us over!

Temple Trip Continued...

I stole these pictures from our friend Stacia's blog. This is what Nash did while we were at the temple. Stacia has 4 boys and Nash I think feels like he is apart of their family. Notice how puny he is in the first picture. Madden (holding his hand) is only 6 month older then him and Dawson is almost a year younger! These are some big boys or our child is TINY!
Nash and Dawson get along really well and had fun playing on the side.Nash has been having some serious nose issues. He has had cold sores all up inside his nose that keep bleeding. I feel so bad for him.
How cute is that! Thanks Stacia and Taylor for treating Nash like he is one of your kids. He obviously feels very comfortable with you guys!

As a side note I am so happy that Nash will be getting a sibling soon. I really think he feels jipped when he is with his little friends and they all get to go home together to play. He just gets to go home to me.
